Jürgen Habermas and Charles Taylor receive Kluge Prize 2015

We are proud to share with you the news that Jürgen Habermas and Charles Taylor are to jointly receive the John-W.-Kluge Prize, endowed with 1.5 million US-Dollars.

»Jürgen Habermas and Charles Taylor are brilliant philosophers and deeply engaged public intellectuals,” the jury stated. “Emerging from different philosophical traditions, they converge in their ability to address contemporary problems with a penetrating understanding of individual and social formations.«

The John W. Kluge Center at the Library of Congress in Washington has been awarding the Kluge Prize since 2003 and distinguishes the lifetime achievements of scholars of the humanities and social sciences, whose disciplines are not covered by the Nobel Prize.
