»He’s earned it. He got me through all the years. All the aches and pains. He’s always got me back on my feet. I am endlessly thankful. He’s the best doctor in the world. This medal is for you!«

Müller-Wohlfahrt is considered one of the best sports medicine physicians in the world. His sense of touch is rumoured to be magical. He does not rely on MRIs or sonographs –his fingers tell him what the problem is, and he treats injuries with natural medicine exclusively.

A lot has been written about him, but now Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt, known affectionately as »Doc«, tells the story himself: from his sheltered childhood in East Frisia in a Protestant rectory, his strict father, his passion for music and sports, to his career as a doctor and those lucky coincidences that led him, among other things, to become team physician for FC Bayern München and the German national football team. For the first time ever he describes his unique healing methods with which he has treated and healed successful athletes including many world champions and Olympic winners. However, Müller-Wohlfahrt also talks about those power plays behind the (football) scenes, which still weigh on his mind today. Above all, this book deals with his mission as a physician and the credo that drives him: help without doing harm.
