Paris and its cafés – Paris-native Murielle Rousseau takes us along to her favourite cafés in the city. From Café de Flore to Café Marly in the Louvre, from Deux Moulins in Montmartre to Brasserie Lipp: Both the small bistros around the corner with their simple wooden tables as well as the interesting cafés steeped in tradition in which culture and everyday life have been meeting for as long as anyone can remember are inextricably linked with the life and the flair of the city.

Murielle Rousseau invites readers to visit the most beautiful and unique cafés in her home city and tells countless stories of the past and the present in a special, charming and very French manner. A vivid portrait of the classic and the modern café tradition in Paris.

»Among the cafés presented by Murielle Rousseau with a great deal of heart and soul the Brasserie Lipp does not go amiss .... There’s no getting around Bistro Vivienne either, not to mention Fouquet's, where Nicolas Sarkozy popped the champagne corks to celebrate his election victory.« Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

»All the cafés are presented in short stories that not only pay tribute to the French institution of the café, but also show what an accomplished storyteller [Murielle Rousseau] is. Anyone travelling to Paris should perhaps take a look at the book beforehand or take it with them as a guide ...« Homme de Fer

»Murielle Rousseau [has] ... found stories about each of the many cafés, which are arranged according to arrondissements ... [An] enchanting book.« Bettina Schulte, Badische Zeitung
