Uffa Jensen traces the origins of the politics of rage back into the 19th century and explains how these feelings of rejection function. In so doing, it becomes clear how emotions—especially in confrontations with social others like refugees, Muslims, or Jews—come to a boil and are consciously instrumentalized. Utilizing the historical connections between stereotypes and feelings, Jensen then derives strategies with which we can address the current wave of political rage.
