This year the 30.000 Euro Wilhelm Raabe Literature Prize goes to Judith Schalansky for her work Verzeichnis einiger Verluste. The prize will be awarded November 4th in Braunschweig.

From the statement of the jury: »Judith Schalansky succeeded in doing something really unusual here. She finds a lingua franca for dealing with death and loss. A poetic prose of metamorphoses. In between Ovid and Otto Guericke, with the voice of Sappho and Garbo, a wondrous, a wonder-book.«
