Serbian author Miodrag Pavlovic has been named a recipient of this year’s Petrarca Prize. In its statement, the jury wrote that his works »transform literature into the vehicle of cultural expression in their country«.

The Petrarca Prize honours the work of European authors who despite their importance for the literature of their native countries have not received the recognition in Germany that their stature merits. The prize was founded by Hubert Burda and will be presented to the recipients on June 23 in Marbach.
