Juri Andruchowytsch awarded Hannah Arendt Prize 2014

The city of Bremen and the Heinrich Böll Foundation have announced the winners of the Hannah Arendt Prize 2014.

Juri Andruchowytsch is due to receive the prize on December 5, 2014. Andruchowytsch will share this prize honouring political thinking and brave engagement with the »Venture of Public Life« with Nadeshda Tolokonnikowa and Marija Aljochina.

The jury states that »Andruchowytsch is a writer with a long history of getting involved in public issues. His books depict the diverse cultures of Central Europe. This year he edited an anthology entitled Euromaidan. What Ukraine stands to lose.«
