We are excited to announce that Marion Poschmann is on the shortlist for the 2019 Man Booker International Prize with her novel
Die Kieferninseln.
The Man Booker International Prize is awarded annually for a single work of fiction, translated into English and published in the UK. The £50,000 prize is divided equally between the author and the translator. The winner will be announced on May 21.

Die Kieferninseln was on the shortlist for the German Book Prize in 2017. It has also been on the best book lists with
SWR and
ORF and was on the bestseller lists of
SPIEGEL,
Focus,
Stern and
Börsenblatt. Overall sales of the German editions of
Die Kieferninseln amount to more than 50.000 copies.
