When the Mouse Didn’t Know Where It Was

The little mouse is flabbergasted: Where is it? And how did it get here? It’s dark, and somewhere, frogs are croaking. A strange coincidence, says the mouse. Curious, it begins to explore this myterious place. Along the way, it comes across all kinds of animals: giraffes, rhinoceroses, camels – even a cat! But the cat does nothing to the little mouse. How can that be? And is the mouse really here by chance? Or is there something else going on?

In catchy rhymes and striking illustrations, Jörg Hilbert retells the story of Noah's Ark from the perspective of one of its passengers. Hilbert drew inspiration for this story from the animal sculptures of the ANOHA Children’s World at the Jewish Museum in Berlin, many of which were based on the author’s own sketches.
