Lake Constance

What could a perfect day on Lake Constance look like? Sail through three countries on a historic ferry and enjoy the sunrise while having breakfast. Afterwards, take a stroll through the meandering alleys of the Council City of Constance or over the Überlingen market on the opposite shore. Droste-Hülshoff’s Meersburg Castle offers the best view of the lake and the Säntis. After that, a hike up one of the bizarre volcanic mountains could be on the agenda. Get your energy boost with a Bülle-Dünne meal on the Höri or with freshly caught fish and trout caviar directly from the fisherman. Or take a walk through primeval forest nature reserves, past lonely chapels and Siberian orchids. If you prefer cycling, take a bike through lakeside villages to an enchanted cemetery. Perhaps you would also like to see the Rhine before it enters the lake? Visit ibexes on the Pfänder mountain and the stage by the lake in Bregenz in the evening? Either way, end your day on one of the peninsulas with a wine grown on the surrounding hills.
