A small park connected to the two-storey mansion that would become the new centre of his life and in that park Marisse established his »studio in the countryside«. Art historian Peter Kropmanns talks about the artist's change of location that changed everything with profound detailed knowledge; the volume also contains historic photographs from Issy and reproductions of numerous works by Matisse from that time.
