Thomas Kapielski was born in Berlin in 1951. He studied philology, physical geography as well as philosophy at the Free University of Berlin. Kapielski began writing for publications such as DIE ZEIT, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Frankfurter Rundschau in the 1990s. He works as an author, artist, musician and lecturer.
