Daria Serenko Named One of BBC's 100 Women 2023

Suhrkamp author Daria Serenko has been chosen for the BBC’s list of 100 inspiring and influential women from around the world for 2023.
The BBC had the following to say about Serenko: “Writer and political activist Daria Serenko is one of many co-ordinators of the Feminist Anti-War resistance – a movement against Russia's invasion of Ukraine. For the past nine years she has been writing about gender violence in Russia, and has written two books of feminist and anti-war prose.”
They also mentioned Serenko’s work as the creator of the Quiet Pickett art initiative, in which she wears placards inscribed with messages to engage people on particular issues.
Serenko’s most recent publication with Suhrkamp is the double edition Girls and Institutions/I Wish Ashes for My House, published in German in September of 2023. We congratulate the author on this just recognition of her work both as a poet and as an activist for peace.
