Suhrkamp Verlag is thrilled to announce that sociologist and author Martina Löw has been awarded the Schader Prize in recognition of her contribution to the social sciences. The award, which comes with a €15,000 cash prize, seeks to recognise a social scientist who, through their groundbreaking work, has contributed to efforts to solve pressing social problems. Previous winners of the prize include Steffen Mau, Ulrich Beck, and Christoph Möllers.

The prize is awarded by the committee of the Schader-Stiftung, which is made up of the previous six winners of the award. In 2025, these were: Silja Häusermann, Steffen Mau, Lisa Herzog, Armin Nassehi, Dorothea Kübler, Christoph Möllers and Otfried Jarren.

The prize will be awarded at a public ceremony in Darmstadt in June 2025.
