Mina Hava has been awarded the Alfred Döblin-Medaille for her debut novel,
For Seka. The prize is awarded by the Academy of Sciences and Literature in Mainz, and is endowed with €5,000. In their remarks, the judges noted that in For Seka, Hava »weaves together past and present, the historical and the personal experiences of her protagonist. She elegantly reveals her narrative technique and literary role models … She has delivered a masterful debut.«
The award ceremony will take place on 25 April 2024 in Mainz.
