Ozan Zakariya Keskinkılıç and Nina Bußmann have both made the longlist for the 2026 Literaturpreis der deutschen Wirtschaft for their novels Son of a Dog and Three Weeks in August.

Since 1953, the Kulturkreis der deutschen Wirtschaft has been honouring powerful young voices in contemporary German-language literature. The award comes with a cash prize of €20,000 and celebrates the diversity of literary forms and genres, with a focus on narrative prose, essays, and poetry. It is awarded annually to authors up to 45 years of age whose works demonstrate high levels of literary quality, linguistic innovation, and aesthetic daring. Previous winners include Dana Vowinckel, Clemens Setz and Wolfgang Herrndorf.

The three authors on the shortlist will be announced on 10 March 2026, with the winner to be announced on 8 May. A public reading and award ceremony will take place in October 2026 as part of the 75th annual conference of the Kulturkreis der deutschen Wirtschaft.
