The film rights for Leif Lindholm's Between Two Seas have been acquired, with a feature film planned.
A boy and a man. Two traumatized individuals cross paths in Skagen, at the northernmost tip of Denmark, where the North and Baltic Seas meet. Ten-year-old Ben hast lost his father in a sailing accident. Ben has come to Skagen to overcome his fear of the water and finally learn to swim. Theo is a renowned biologist who recently caused the death of two colleagues during a risky diving expedition. Tentatively, trust develops between Ben and Theo. Together, they make a discovery that connects them. Why have Nautilus shells from the South Sea been washing up on Skagen’s coast for more than 100 years? Theo and Ben learn to overcome their fears of the sea, which enables them to uncover a dark secret that has haunted Skagen for a long time. It is the influence of two strong women, a pregnant local policewoman and an elderly swimming instructor, who bring the story to a happy ending. Leif Lindholm’s novel provides a touching story for a highly emotional family movie.
