»Full of unforgettable characters … There are not many books that so clearly bring to life an entire age.« Sybil Gräfin Schönfeldt, Süddeutsche Zeitung

»This warning about the perils of fascism, articulated all the way back in 1937, is just as fascinating as the way way that it explicitly addresses multiple readerships. Read today – with all our knowledge about the Nazi era – the work becomes a valuable historical document.« Susanne Blumesberger
