Drug Faust Parsifal / Droge Faust Parsifal
In a kind of Berlin dramaturgy, this essay exposes and explains the theatrical canon of Schleef as a theatre-maker – from Aeschylus to Bertolt Brecht and Heiner Müller. He situates the question »how much drugs does a human need?« as key for these plays. And with snippets from his own life story and observations of the world around him, he lends a sense of engagement and contemporaneity to his arguments on the lines of tradition in German theatre.
