Stefan Moster

Stefan Moster was born in 1964 in Mainz and divides his time between Berlin and Porvoo in Finland. He works as a literary translator and author. He grew up in a family in which, as he himself says, it was »impossible to escape singing in a choir.« The recorder, guitar, oboe, and piano were all part of his basic musical education. He wrote the libretto for the opera Galen: Der Kardinal by Thorsten Schmid-Kapfenburg (which premiered in May 2022 in Münster), and two of his novels deal with music: Die Unmöglichkeit des vierhändigen Spiels (2009) and Bin das noch ich (2023), »a novel that speaks to more than just music lovers« (hr2 Kultur).
