Eric Wrede is Germany's most influential undertaker and grief counsellor. Before founding his company lebensnah Bestattungen, he was a music manager. He is also an author, podcaster, and a highly sought-after interview guest. His book The End was a bestseller, and was made into the film Sterben für Beginner (Death for Beginners) by the TV channel ZDF. The documentary film about his work, Der Tod ist ein Arschloch (Death Is an Arsehole), was one of the most successful documentaries of 2025 in German cinemas. He writes regular columns for Der Spiegel, Focus, and Berliner Zeitung.
